This class combines playing an instrument, writing original songs and using art-making as a tool for musical inspiration.  Through studying the ukulele, we will learn the fundamentals of songwriting: what songs can be about, how to employ concision in lyric writing, and various structures and forms.  We will also work on playing the ukulele, thinking about such things as plucking, strumming, chords, notes, tablatures, and performance techniques. Working both collaboratively and individually we will create original songs drawing inspiration from various art forms such as storytelling, painting, sculpture, collage, poetry and creative writing.  Join us in our collaborative, fun-filled, songwriting adventure!
