(ages K-3)

(This workshop counts for two punches from our workshop package. Email us to reserve a spot using a punch card. MAPS@MusicArtPuppetSound.org)

In this workshop, kids will play movement games and generate some of their own choreography. We will explore creative ways of moving, developing our own movement language while developing skills in collaboration and solo performance.

About the Teacher:

This workshop is in collaboration with Emily Climer, who is a dance maker who currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has most recently been presented as part of Split Bill at Triskelion Arts, the No Theme Performance Festival, and Sundays on Broadway. As a performer, Emily has worked on projects by Mina Nishimura, Tori Lawrence & Co., Tyler Rai, and Tiny Trip Presents. In addition to choreographing and performing, Emily is a member of the Humanities Team at Great Minds, where she writes and edits books for kids when they are first learning to read. Emily received a BA from Bennington College and an MFA from the University of Iowa. She regularly teaches contemporary technique, improvisation, and choreography to students of all ages. www.emilyclimer.org
